Thursday afternoon
We have learned from several sources that there has been an increase in violence in Guatemala in recent weeks, including bus violence. Several of our sources believe that much of the violence is concentrated in intracity buses in Guatemala City - buses that we would not be riding anyway.
While we believe that we should continue with the mission trip, we want everyone on the trip - and their families and prayer partners - to know about this increased risk.
Whatever folks on the team and their families decide about their participation, we also ask that everyone continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Guatemala, most of whom do not have the luxury of deciding whether to stay in the United States instead of traveling and staying in Guatemala. But please also pray for the Crescent Hill travelers - however many there end up being -including for our health and safety.

Just read through the recent postings and despite the concerns raised about more violence in parts of Guatemala, I still feel so right about this trip. I am so grateful to each of you who are going for the sacrafices that you and your families are making to be a part of this experience. My prayers will be with you and our Guatemalan sisters and brothers daily. I can't wait to find out what evolves from this trip. I love you all and wish you peace. Sleep well and I'll see you in the morning. Soni
