The official representatives for our church are off on their trip. Carlos, Faith, Ted, Stephanie, Vincent, Ben, Ellen, Jane, Luke, Eva, Lowell, Janine, Perry, Soni, Bob, and Wanda gathered this morning at 10 a.m. to see our group of representatives off. After final discussions of whether the trip should go on, given the increase in violence in Guatemala City, a group prayer was offered up for safe keeping. Bob and Wanda drove Lowell and Luke to the Cincinnati airport. Stephanie and Vincent drove Perry. Soni drove the rest of the troops (Ellen, Ben, and Jane).
We met around 12:30 for final good-byes. After a long delay going through security they landed safely in Houston. Last I heard they were heading to board their plane after a nice dinner together.
