Thoughts

Three things I noticed looking over the Estoreño presbytery leaders’ schedule for our visit:

- Even though I know Ben, Carlos, and Ellen were involved in helping set up this schedule, it’s impressive to see something coming from the Estoreño folks that we know that folks like David and Martin – as much as we love them – didn’t spearhead, that came more from the Estoreño folks themselves.

- I’m impressed how much time is going to be devoted to trying to hammer out a convenio for compañerismo.

- This is a packed schedule. From the minute we get up at the seminary Saturday morning until we retire at Bruno’s hotel in Rio Dulce Monday night – and especially from 3 p.m. Saturday through 3 p.m. Monday, we’re going to be on. There will be little room for us to have attacks of introverted-ness or heat exhaustion from the 104 degree weather. We may be able to take it easy in Guatemala City, but- for 2 ½ straight days - we’re going to be running. Selfishly, I don’t know how I’m going to find any time to blog in El Estor. We’re not going to be able to take any long afternoons off like we occasionally could during the 2007 trip.

It’s starting to look real, brothers and sisters!
